Hair Restoration Surgery Gives Great Results
If you are losing your hair and going bald I have great news for you. There is a procedure that can be performed which will help you to get your own hair growing in that bald spot once again. Hair restoration surgery has been perfected to the point that no one will even suspect you have had hair implants. A friend of mine had such good results that people were asking him if they had found a cure for baldness. In a way they have.
The vast majority of men, about 95%, who experience early hair loss do so because of a condition called Androgenetic Alopecia. This is a genetic problem that is passed down from either the mother’s or the father’s side of the family to the person who is losing their hair. This medical condition makes certain hair follicles on the head susceptible to attack by a natural occurring hormonal metabolite called DHT. This DHT will bond with receptors on the susceptible hair follicles which causes them to stop producing hair shaft material. Once the follicle has become inactive it will most likely never produce hair again.
The only option at this point is to replace those inactive follicles with ones that are still healthy and active. Generally, the hairs located at the back of the head do not respond to the DHT. This means these hair follicles can be transplanted into the bald spot and they will grow just like natural hair for years to come. When these implants were first tried in the 1950,s the results were not very satisfactory but that has all changed now.
New micro-surgical techniques allow for manipulation of each individual follicle or follicular group. This means they can be placed into the scalp in such a way that they lay exactly like the surrounding hair. This makes the surgical results unnoticeable unlike in the 50’s when the hair stuck out in every which direction.
This surgery works great for men because they usually have thick hair growth at the back of the head. It does not work so well as a hair restoration for women technique because women usually have thinning hair over their entire head which does not give a good donation area. With out thick hair growth somewhere there is no point to moving hair follicles around.
