What Do Thyroid Supplements Do?
Are you currently taking a thyroid supplement? If you are not taking one yourself, chances are you know someone who is taking a natural thyroid supplement. These supplements have become increasingly popular as the media has touted their benefits fairly consistently. Thyroid supplements are available in two different forms. These two types are whole natural thyroid supplements as well as synthetic supplements. In general, it is better idea to take a whole natural thyroid supplement as the synthetic versions typically only include one of the thyroid hormones, but the whole natural thyroid supplements typically contain a wider spectrum of thyroid hormones.

Dr. James Isaacs who is a well known cardiovascular surgeon from Baltimore, conducted a classic study in 1974 that found evidence that those who took 1/4 grain of a thyroid support supplement (whole thyroid is measured in grains, with 60mg being equal to1 grain) in conjunction with vitamins and minerals over a span of ten years showed significant improvement in both cardiovascular function and cardiovascular protection.
