Back pain is a very common health problem. People of various professions around the world often suffer from this problem. Especially those who do sitting work (desk work), their nature of work, fitness-related problems and poor lifestyle are the most likely to suffer from back pain.
The risk of back pain increases with age. Our back or spine consists of a complex structure of bones, muscles, discs, tendons and ligaments, which support the weight of the body and enable movement.
Back pain is mainly caused by disc surgery, heavy lifting, strain or injury. Stress and wrong posture are also one of the causes of back pain. Various types of rheumatism or arthritis can also cause back pain.
What to do to get rid of back pain
In case of pain, hot and cold compresses help reduce inflammation. Applying cold compress (ice pack) for 20 minutes 2-3 times a day will surely provide relief. If the pain gradually subsides, then warm poultice should be given.
Stretching increases blood flow to the muscles. Stretching is great in yoga. You can try some simple stretches from home. After waking up, before leaving the bed, stretch both arms above the head. Push your feet as far as you can take them. Hold as long as possible. Stand straight and raise your hands above your head, then slowly bring them down and touch your feet. You can also do Sarvangasana, Ustrasana.
Sit straight in the chair with your back straight. Leaning forward or slouching puts more pressure on the back. It hurts. There is no chance of pain if you sit straight.
Reduce stress. Need enough sleep.
Beds and pillows can cause neck and back pain. The bed should be neither soft nor hard. The pillow should not be too high, so that the spine is curved.
Sleeping upright does not cause back problems. Those who are used to sleeping on their side, use a pillow.
Those who work at a desk or computer for long periods of time, take breaks between tasks. Do some stretching. Walk around a bit.
Develop a nutritious balanced diet. Keep weight under control.
